Where is weatherby guns made

I bought my first rifle when I was still pretty young. I bought a second hand Weatherby Vanguard. To me, just the name held a certain prestige. I didn't even bother to check to see where it was made. It was a Weatherby, I mean the name was synonymous with quality American made firearms.

I later found out it was made in Japan and my heart sank. Not that the rifle was inferior, I just felt a little betrayed. My father was very pro American made and was somewhat anti Japanese made. He used to look at whatever he was buying and if it was made in Japan he would say, "Japanese Trash" and toss it aside. Obviously the days of Japan making trash are gone.

Many of the best products available are made there including firearms. Still, it bothers me that we have become so numb to the fact that American names like Weatherby, Weaver, and even John Deere are not made in America. Some are, I know. Still, can't a corporation as large as Weatherby make all their guns here? There's no way they can make a gun that could be on the same level as the Howa "Vanguard" and make it here? We're talking pride of ownership for one and obviously more job positions for factory workers.

Here, in the United States. I guess the problem is I still have a little bit of my father in me. Weatherby, if you're listening, I'll pay a little more for an American made Vanguard. I for one will buy it. If you say, " then buy a Mark V". I'd rather buy from a company that makes all their products in America. WeatherBobby 8. To me the name Weatherby has always been synonymous with top shelf quality.

This holds true no matter where they have had their weapons made over the years. They have always stood behind their product like few companies have.

This speaks volumes about their guns. You can't stay afloat with a warranty like that if you produce junk. Dependable, super accurate, and beautiful! I had been in awe of the Mark V and dreamed of getting one since I was a kid. That said , I saved and waited a lot of years for them to move production to the U. If I worked in a field that paid a lucrative wage I would have bought one sooner but helping people for a living isn't usually a high dollar profession, at least not what I did.

You know, going forward, so last Thursday night, I think we had a table up downtown and man, we sold out of, like, hats and t-shirts.

Is there anything that you're thinking of or plans you have to get involved?

AW: Yeah, one of the things that we did on our grand opening day is we had 11 conservation groups a part of our grand opening. And those are most of those are nationwide conservation groups, some are more regional, but we invited all the local chapters, I think we donated a couple of guns to each chapter, for instance, they sold raffle tickets.

They kept all those proceeds, and so that helped. So yeah, we definitely do want to be a vital and vibrant part of the community not just employing people but in a variety of different ways. But I think we'll need to find kind of what that shape is. We certainly can't say yes to all the things. But say like, so okay, that makes sense, like we provide products for people to get out there and get in the outdoors. Let's help protect our outdoors.
