Great Park for kids young and old. The first stage of the park has been completed and young people wasted no time in making the most of it.
Young people met with skatepark company GBH Engineering, who offered sponsorship due to the size and originality of the site. This funding has been enough to lay the base for the park almost 26, sq ft and install a grand feature piece of equipment.
The grand piece has plenty of curves and ramps for skateboarders and BMXers to practice their tricks on, including a hipped quarterpipe, a rollover section and a volcano section. Young people had a direct input into the design. Essex County Youth Service are continuing to meet with the young people, supporting them into the second phase of the project and completion of one of the largest skateparks in the country.
Young people have shown a lot of enthusiasm for the project and this shows with enough dedication they can make things happen. We are delighted to have been able to help. Full park info here. It's still a sorry excuse for a skatepark. It sucks.
